The Alberta Snowboarding Association ("ASA") was incorporated under the Societies Act of the Province of Alberta on April 18, 1989. Since then we have operated as a non-profit provincial sports association promoting the development of snowboard training and competition in the province of Alberta.

All athletes who accept passes must have a valid ASA membership and be signed up with an Alberta based training program and must accept the pass by Thursday 25th September.

Passes will be available to collect from the ASA office week commencing Monday 29th September. If you do not want to accept the CanWest pass please contact the ASA office as soon as possible. You will need to bring 2, 1” x 1” photos and sign a waiver. You must be over 18 to sign the waiver. A parents signature is required if you are under 18. The cost of the pass is $480.

Hiring Events Coordinator

A new and exciting position has been created at the Alberta Snowboarding Association for an Events Coordinator.

The Alberta Snowboarding Association (ASA) is looking for a talented individual who has a passion for snowboarding and snowboarding related events to fill the roll of Event Manager.

Responsibilities include:
Event planning scheduling,
Event site liaison and set coordination of set up/tear down,
Coordination of event officials and volunteers, volunteer recruitment.
Event equipment management.
You will be:
Enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a team.
A good communicator
Available to work weekends.
Previous event coordination experience is an asset.
Physically fit.
Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
A clean driver’s license
We offer:
Training.
A flexible work environment.
A competitive salary, although salary will be determined by experience and qualifications.
You will work closely with the ASA office manager under the direction of the ASA Executive.

This position is full time seasonal, commencing in September 2008 and continuing until at least the end April 2009.

Notice of Alberta Snowboarding Association Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the members of the Alberta Snowboarding Association will be held at the Calgary Olympic Park Hall of Fame auditorium, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, June 19, 2008 commencing at 6:45 p.m. for the following purposes:

  1. To consider and approve the audited financial statements of the Association for its fiscal year ended April 30, 2008
  2. To appoint auditors for the next fiscal year 2008-09
  3. To receive and accept reports of the president, CSF Rep, RBC Riders rep and the nominating committee.
  4. To hold elections for board members.
  5. To conduct such other business as may properly come before the meeting
